MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin's unemployment rate has dropped again.

State labor officials said Thursday that the seasonally-adjusted jobless rate fell one-tenth of a point to 5.8 percent in April.

Preliminary numbers showed that 7,600 private sector jobs were added in April -- a figure based on three-and-a-half percent of the state's employers. Officials also cited a virtually complete survey of Wisconsin employers, showing that the state added about 28,000 private sector jobs during 2013.

We won't until June 19th how Wisconsin's job growth from last year compared to other states. That's when the Labor Department's Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages comes out.
