WABENO, WI (WTAQ) - Forest County authorities have arrested six people after a man was allegedly beaten and left in the woods.
The 40-year-old victim was found Wednesday at the end of Bug Lake Road by two men riding ATVs. He's still alive but may lose a foot and one of his legs, according to Forest County court records.
Later Wednesday, the Forest County Sheriff's Department arrested 4 adults and two juveniles at a Wabeno home.
The victim allegedly touched the 11-year-old daughter of two of the suspects inappropriately, according to a police report.
The adult suspects allegedly beat the man both Monday and Tuesday. They then brought him to the woods near Bug Lake on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities are seeking several charges against the four adults, including attempted first-degree reckless homicide, false imprisonment and causing mental harm to a child. No word yet on what charges the juveniles would face.
The four adults were jailed on bonds ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 each. They are due in court next Wednesday.
