WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ) - The man charged with setting a pair of fires in New London last month waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.
A Waupaca County judge has ordered 19-year-old Jesse McLammarah to stand trial on nine charges, including two counts of attempted homicide and two counts of arson.
McLammarah is scheduled to be arraigned June 25.
The first blaze set early on the morning of May 20 injured two people and displaced six others from the apartments above the Copper Shot bar in downtown New London. Authorities indicate McLammarah told them the fire was payback for an unpaid drug debt.
About an hour later, McLammarah allegedly set fire to a playground outside of New London High School.
