GREEN BAY, Wis (WSAU-Metro) Senator Ron Johnson should know soon whether his lawsuit against President Obama can move forward. The Wisconsin Republican is trying to sue the administration over the decision that members of Congress and their staffers could take advantage of a subsidy to bring down the cost of insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Johnson argues that should be only for small businesses, not for the federal government.
The Obama Administration says the lawsuit should be dropped. They argue Sen. Johnson doesn't have standing to sue, and that the subsidies for members of congress and their staffers are optional.
U.S. District Judge William Griesbach is promising to rule "in short order" if the lawsuit can proceed.
