Corey Taylor ’s memoir A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven is now available in paperback. The book was originally released about a year ago and documents Taylor's experiences dealing with ghosts and other supernatural happenings.
The Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman tells ABC News Radio that response to the book "has been great," but that some fans expected Funny Thing and its 2011 predecessor, Seven Deadly Sins , to be straight-up autobiographies. "That's one of the reasons that people either love my books or hate 'em," he says, "Because they pick 'em up thinking they're gonna be one thing and it turns out to be something completely different."
Taylor tells ABC News Radio, "I wanted to tell some stories but I also wanted to write about a certain subject and try to make it interesting, because I had these interesting theories, I had all these things that I had experienced and I had seen in my life and I wanted to try to get a conversation going."
Taylor was successful in his quest: after its release, Funny Thing reached #23 on The New York Times Best Sellers Hardcover Nonfiction list. Taylor’s previous book, Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good , also scored a place on the same list, debuting at #26 after it was released in July of 2011.
You can find A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and the usual locations.
