MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - An appeals court Thursday ordered some records released tied to a secret John Doe investigation targeting the Governor's campaign and conservative groups.
The AP reports that the state appeals court's order doesn't include documents that identifies those who are being investigated, specific information sought by subpoena or search warrant or any other details of the probe.
According to the court, the paperwork does involve lawyers' requests to stop the investigation, a response from the special prosecutor and other filings.
The attorneys for 3 unknown petitioners also sought to suspend the probe in the counties of Milwaukee, Dane, Dodge, Iowa and Columbia or to send their request right to the state Supreme Court.
Those requests were denied.
