BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WSAU) -- Polk County investigators have released the name of Wednesday night’s victim involved in a snowmobile crash. She was 20-year-old Victoria Henderson of Luck.
The crash happened near Luck on Bone Lake. Investigators say that it appears the driver of the snowmobile turned to avoid running into an ice fishing shack. That's when investigators say that Henderson hit the shack. Deputies say the sled side-swiped the ice shack, and left no visible damage to the snowmobile, but Henderson was thrown into the shack by the sharp turn.
Investigators arrested 21-year-old Nicholas Krenz of St. Croix Falls for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated. Formal charges are being reviewed by the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, and have not been filed with the clerk as of Friday.
