The latest Coldplay contest is over almost as soon as it began. As reported yesterday, the band took to Twitter to announce that handwritten lyrics to all nine of the songs on its forthcoming album, Ghost Stories, were hidden in libraries around the world. Coldplay's Twitter feed then issued several clues about individual lyric sheets, all of which were found in short time -- including the one accompanied by the "Golden Ticket" -- a certificate for the grand prize, for the finder and a guest to fly to London to see Coldplay's show on July 1.
At press time, there are still several lyric sheets outstanding -- check out Coldplay's Twitter for clues.
On the Coldplay concert ticket front, tickets go on sale tomorrow for the band's second NYC show -- announced after Coldplay sold out the first concert in less than one minute. The second show is at the same venue -- the Beacon Theatre -- on the same day as the first, but at 5 p.m. There's a catch for this show: you must be a Citi card member to purchase tickets.
Ticket sales begin Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. ET and if the first show's sales rate is a clue, the early show will sell out in nothing flat as well, so be quick if you want a ticket.
Coldplay also recently announced they're headlining Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow, Scotland. That show will be simulcast online; check out details on the BBC website .
Ghost Stories arrives in digital and retail outlets on May 19.
