If you thought you saw Chris Martin skulking around the New York Public Library recently...it might have been him. Coldplay has announced that the lyrics to all nine of the songs on Ghost Stories are now hiding, tucked away in libraries worldwide.
According to a press release issued by the band, "Clues to the exact locations of the lyrics will be posted from today on the band's Twitter account -- twitter.com/coldplay -- using the hashtag #lyricshunt. The band's fans will be encouraged to help solve the clues and visit their local library to see if they can find an envelope containing one of the unique lyrics sheets."
The release promises, "The lyrics will be hidden in ghost story books in libraries in nine countries, located across the planet."
And whaddya get for your efforts? For a start, worldwide fame. "As each one is discovered, a photo of the lyric sheet will be posted," promises the Coldplay release, "for all [our] fans to see."
And then there's the shot at the "Golden Ticket" -- one of the envelopes contains a certificate for the grand prize, a ticket for the finder and a guest to fly to London to see Coldplay's show on July 1.
Ghost Stories arrives in digital and retail outlets on May 19.
