OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - A Winnebago County judge has sentenced William Doemel to 17 years in prison for causing a fatal drunken crash.
On December 15, 2012, Doemel slammed into another vehicle in Nekimi, killing Robert Zentner and injuring Zentner's wife.
A criminal complaint details that Doemel had a blood-alcohol content of 0.285, which is over three times the legal limit. His driver's license was also suspended at the time.
In court Thursday, Judge Karen Seifert sentenced Doemel to 12 years in prison for the fatality and another five years for the injuries.
After his release, his driver’s license will be revoked for five years, and then he would be required to have an ignition interlock for five years.
