GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Baylake Bank Tall Ship Festival is sailing back into Northeast Wisconsin this summer.
Organizers announced five of the eight vessels Tuesday that will take part of the event August 16 to 18 at Leicht Memorial Park in downtown Green Bay.
"Besides the sheer economic impact that this brings to our community, it's a unique experience," says Sara Klemme, event coordinator with PMI Entertainment Group. "It's a unique educational opportunity to bring your family to."
The first five ships are:
Appledore IV - Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay and festival day sail excursions
S/V Denis Sullivan - Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay sail excursion
Flagship Niagara - Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay sail excursion
Windy - Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay and festival day sail excursions
Hindu - Festival day sail excursions
All excursion tickets include admission to the festival and are on sale starting Tuesday March 5 at Ticket Star locations, including the Resch Center box office, online at www.ticketstaronline.com or by phone at (800) 895-0071.
The Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay sail excursions cost $275. Green Bay festival day sail excursions cost $60 for 90 minutes, and $50 for 75 minutes. Sunset sail excursions, which start at 7 p.m., are $75 for 90 minutes.
General festival tickets cost $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 5-12 and seniors age 62 and over. Those tickets go on sale Monday June 3 at 11 a.m.
Junior Achievement of Brown County will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event and will be a volunteer participant in the festival.
