SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ) - Rescue crews saved two ice fishermen after their truck plunged through the ice in the bay of Green Bay Tuesday.

The fishermen told FOX 11 they were headed out to a spot on the bay when the truck they were riding in fell into the water.

They were in shallow water and the truck was submerged only to the door, so the men were able to jump out of the windows.

Rescuers staged at Sunset Beach Park in Suamico. They sent ATVs about a mile offshore to rescue the men.

Foggy conditions hampered the rescue efforts. The fishermen stayed on the phone with rescuers and also used a GPS unit to help them meet up.
