Tom Morello will be hitting the road with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for the group’s upcoming Australian tour in March. The Rage Against the Machine guitarist has stepped up to fill in for E Street’s Stevie Van Zandt so the latter can finish filming the second season of his successful television show, Lilyhammer . Morello will perform as a member of the E Street Band for nine shows before Van Zandt rejoins the band in Oslo, Norway on April 29.
Morello’s no stranger to collaborating with Springsteen and the E Street Band: he's featured on “Jack of All Trades” and “This Depression” on The Boss’ latest album, Wrecking Ball . He also made two guest appearances with them at the Anaheim Pond in April of 2008, and performed with them in 2009 at the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert at Madison Square Garden.
In addition, Morello will be paying tribute to Springsteen's artistic achievements and charity work by performing at a MusiCares gala in Los Angeles on February 8. Other artists set to appear at that event include Pearl Jam ’s Eddie Vedder , Mumford & Sons and Alabama Shakes .
