It appears that Mumford & Sons ’ Babel will get to stay at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Babel , which returned to the #1 spot on the tally last week thanks to the release picking up the Album of the Year trophy at the Grammy Awards, could sell around 60,000 copies by Sunday, allowing it to remain at the top of the list, Billboard is reporting.
If the predictions are true, it will be the fifth non-consecutive week that the album has sat at the top of the chart: Babel previously dominated the tally for three weeks straight after it was released last year. Babel would also be the longest-running #1 album for a duo or group since OutKast ’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 after it was released in 2003.
Meanwhile, Alabama Shakes could return to the top 10 on the tally as well. The band’s debut album, Boys & Girls , is expected to sell 30,000 copies, according to Billboard . The sales boost is attributed to the band’s recent performance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live .
The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be released on Wednesday.
