The second installment of Coheed and Cambria ’s concept double album, The Afterman , scored a space in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. The Afterman: Descension debuted at #9 on the list with almost 41,000 copies sold its first week out, according to Nielsen SoundScan. However, the first-week sales figures for Descension ween't as good as sale were for the first half of The Afterman . The Afterman: Ascension scored the #5 spot on the chart, selling 49,000 copies, when it debuted in October of last year.
Perhaps thanks to their performance on last weekend’s Grammy Awards telecast, Mumford & Sons find themselves in a higher position on the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. Mumford’s Babel , which picked up the Album of the Year trophy, moved up from #7 to #4 this week, selling 54,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Meanwhile, the recently reunited Fall Out Boy claimed the #3 slot on the Digital Songs chart with their new single, "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)," which sold 162,000 downloads in its first week. The band’s new album, Save Rock and Roll, arrives in stores on May 7.
