MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A 7-6 loss to the Houston Astros Friday pushes Milwaukee five games behind St. Louis for the final wild card slot, with only five games left to play.

Home runs by Brett Wallace, Jason Castro and Jose Altuve led the team with the worst record in the National League to its first win against Brewer starter Yovani Galladro in 3 seasons.

Several streaks were broken. Milwaukee had won the 11 straight games started by Gallardo and he had whipped Houston 10 consecutive times.

Edgar Gonzalez held the Brewers to just one hit until they got to him in the 6th. Carlos Gomez pounded his 18th home run in the 3rd inning.

Ryan Braun plated two more in the 6th with a double.

Gallardo’s record drops to 16-9, but he did reach 200 strikeouts for the 4th season in a row.

Braun stole his 30th base, meaning last year’s MVP now has two 30-30 seasons.
