Metallica Dominates "Rolling Stone" Readers' Poll of Greatest Heavy Metal Albums

Metallica ’s 1986 album Master of Puppets has been chosen the greatest heavy metal album of all time by the readers of Rolling Stone .

The top 10 poll , which the magazine launched over the weekend, also includes three other Metallica albums: ...And Justice for All at number five, Metallica , a.k.a. the Black Album at number eight, and Ride the Lightning at number ten. The only other band to get multiple albums on the list was Black Sabbath , who claimed slots two and three for Paranoid and their self-titled debut album, respectively. Also, landing on the tally are classic hard-rocking records from Iron Maiden , Slayer , Guns N' Roses and Led Zeppelin .
