MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin’s elections agency has started up a new Web site where overseas voters – including military troops – can apply for absentee ballots and receive them.
It’s called the “My Vote WI” Web site, and it provides ballots that voters can fill out and mail back to their local election clerks.
Voters cannot return ballots electronically.
The state received a $1.9 million federal grant to develop the new Web site. 40 ballots were delivered through the new system as of Wednesday.
The Government Accountability Board said around 6,500 military and other overseas voters from Wisconsin cast absentee ballots in the 2008 presidential election.
More information on the new system is available at the Board’s Web site at GAB.WI.Gov.
