MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ) - A woman appeared in Marinette County Court Monday on charges she stole over $132,000 while serving as treasurer of the Wausaukee Rescue Squad.
According to a criminal complaint, 41-year-old Amanda Stumbris used the rescue squad's debit card to purchase gas, satellite television and at casinos.
Stumbris handled the groupls finances for the past five years. She stated she, "started small and kept taking more and more."
The complaint states when confronted about the missing funds, Stumbris admitted to stealing the money.
Stumbris was released on a $50,000 signature bond. She's due back in court October 15.
