TOMAHAWK, WI (WTAQ) - It doesn’t seem that long ago when Wisconsin was baking in 100 degree temperatures.

So it might sound surprising that some places in the north were hit with frost overnight.

It was 34 degrees in Tomahawk at 7 a.m. Friday – and the 30’s went as far south as Watertown.

Patchy frost is also in the forecast for Friday night in northern Wisconsin, before a slight warm-up takes effect for the weekend.

Actually, the first major frost normally comes in late September – so it’s something we should expect in the coming days.

The National Weather Service says a high pressure system will bring clear and dry weather to the entire state at least through the weekend.

Highs are expected near 70 Friday, around 75 Saturday, and 80 on Sunday.

Forecasters say tonight’s lows will stay in the 40’s – and by Sunday night, no place in Wisconsin could get colder than 50.
