After a five-year hiatus, Down -- the metal super group that features Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo and Corrosion of Conformity guitarist Pepper Keenan -- is ready for you to check out their new six-track EP, Down IV Part I -- The Purple EP . The band has just posted a stream of every song of the upcoming EP at Billboard.com .
Anselmo revealed that the band will be putting out a total of four in EPs in the coming months, rather than releasing a full-length album. "It's about getting people more music quicker," the singer tells Billboard.com. "It's obviously easier to knock out six songs rather than 12 songs. I think it's the healthiest way for Down to continue to get music out on a reasonable schedule."
While the The Purple EP will arrive in stores on Tuesday, Anselmo says that it might be a while before the band releases the other EPs. “We are liars of the first degree when it comes to telling the public or anybody else some set date or time for the next release,” explains the singer. "It always seems like five friggin' years go by, no matter what we say.”
Here’s the track list:
“Levitation”
“Witchtripper”
“Open Coffins”
