The U.K. magazine Q will be holding their annual Q Awards next month, and plenty of rock acts have scored nominations. The recently-reunited Blur is up for two awards in the Best Live Act and Best Act in the World Today categories. Other bands nominated Best Act in the World Today include Coldplay and Muse , while bands nominated for Best Live Act also include Radiohead , The Cribs and The Stone Roses .
Noel Gallagher scored two nominations for the Q Awards, including the Best Video, where he’ll be competing against The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and Keane , among others. Florence + the Machine frontwoman Florence Welch got herself two nominations as well: one in the Best Track category with her band for “Shake It Out,” and one for Best Solo Artist.
Other nominees in various categories include The Black Keys , Alabama Shakes , fun. and Gotye . The awards will be handed out October 22 at a ceremony at a London hotel -- a ceremony at which it is customary for all the attendees to get rip-roaring drunk and say embarrassing things.
