SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) - The first day of school got off to a rocky start near Shawano Tuesday morning.

That's after a van rear-ended a school bus on Highway 29 west of Shawano.

The bus driver went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The van driver was also hurt, but not seriously.

A student was being picked up at the time of the crash. Eight children were also on the bus, but none of them were hurt.

Authorities say fog played a role in the crash.
