The Black Keys have posted the video for “ Little Black Submarines ," the next single from their latest album, El Camino . The four-minute clip features footage of the band performing the song live in front a small crowd at the Springwater Supper Club in Nashville, TN.
Guitarist Dan Auerbach says that while the band originally recorded a bunch of other clips for the “Little Black Submarines” video, they decided to scrap them in favor of footage from their performance at the infamous dive bar.
"There was a storyline but it didn't work," Auerbach tells Rolling Stone . "We all just sort of kind of mutually agreed that it should probably just be the performance and not any of the other extra stuff. We just sort of said 'You know, it was fun kind of performing here at a small club with the fans. Why don't we just have it be that?'"
In other Black Keys news, the band will performing with Foo Fighters and Band of Horses at the Global Festival, a concert event to raise money and awareness about global poverty. The performance will take place in Central Park in New York City on September 29. Fifty-four thousand tickets will be given away by lottery, but you’ll have to perform a number of charitable deeds or donate money to enter the drawing for your ticket.
