Imagine Dragons , who achieved success with their breakout single “It’s Time,” released their full-length debut on Tuesday, Night Visions . Frontman Dan Reynolds says that the album’s title has a variety of different meanings.
“First of all, [guitarist] Wayne [ Sermon ] is a clinical insomniac since the age of like, eight," Reynolds tells ABC News Radio. "And we do a lot of our writing in the middle of the night and lyrically I write a lot based upon a dream I’ll have or something so, there was a lot of different things that kind of came into play.”
Reynolds added that while the band had a large amount to material to choose from, he made sure to stay true to his artistic vision for the album. “We really write songs in its most raw element and then production-wise, we just add what we feel like that song is asking for,” explains the singer. “There was over 100 demos that we had that went into, like, a big pot and then we picked out what we felt were the strongest songs that worked together in a cohesive way.”
In other Imagine Dragons news, the band is set to appear on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night. Shortly after that, the guys will hit the road to support AWOLNATION on their upcoming fall tour, which kicks off on Saturday in Philadelphia, PA.
