CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WTAQ) - A man will spend an extra 15 months in prison for stealing money donated to a Chippewa Falls church.

Kurt Meyer was sentenced last week.

Combined with his previous penalty, the 40 year old will remain in prison for five years. He also has to pay $6,000 in restitution to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Meyer pleaded no content in Chippewa County Court to stealing between $6,000 and $14,000 from the church at Christmas services two years ago.

The money had been intended to go to an orphanage in Peru.
