NEW YORK, NY (WTAQ) - It depends on your point of view – or, maybe your party affiliation.
New York politicians are giving their opinions on a political advertisement being run by U.S. Senate candidate Tommy Thompson.
It criticizes Democrat Tammy Baldwin for her House vote against a resolution honoring the 9-11 victims.
Former New York City mayor and Republican Rudy Giuliani says it would be embarrassing if Baldwin was elected to the Senate after she voted against the resolution.
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, says Thompson’s ad shows a lack of character. Schumer says using a tragedy for political gain is disgraceful.
Baldwin says her vote six years ago was based on other language in the bill. She voted nine other times in favor of resolutions honoring the victims of the terror attacks.
