PORTAGE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - A central Wisconsin man will be sentenced on January 4th, after he struck a plea deal in a series of cabin burglaries.

19-year-old Zachary Deyo of Amherst pleaded no contest in Portage County Circuit Court to 10 felony counts of burglary. 19 other charges were dropped in the plea bargain – including theft and criminal damage.

Deyo was one of four men and a woman charged with numerous offenses in a series of break-ins last fall at seasonal homes.

Thousands of dollars were stolen from the cabins and a construction site – and wire was taken from machines at Wimme Sand and Gravel.

Prosecutors said the missing wiring could have caused workers to be electrocuted.

Two other men in the case have plea hearings coming up – one next month, and one in January. Another defendant still faces a possible trial.
