GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin U.S. Senate candidate Tommy Thompson is getting a huge boost Wednesday during his appearance in Green Bay.

The former Republican governor will be joined by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at the "Countdown to Victory Luncheon" at the Hyatt on Main.

A roundtable discussion kicked off at 11 a.m., followed by the luncheon, which runs up to $5,000 per couple.

Thompson is facing Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in the race for Wisconsin's open U.S. Senate seat.

Baldwin has demonstrated a distinct financial edge, raising about $4.6 million in the quarter versus $3.6 million for Thompson. She pushed her cash-on-hand advantage to $1.5 million going into the final five weeks of the campaign.

The two candidates square off in their second debate Thursday in Wausau.
