TAYLORS FALLS, MN (WTAQ) - A man drowned Sunday, while trying to remove a dock from the St. Croix River on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
52-year-old Steven Labarron was on the Minnesota side at Taylors Falls.
Authorities said he was pulling the dock near a steep bank, when it disconnected from its pulling rope. That caused Labarron to hit his head and fall into the river.
Rescuers performed CPR and sent him to a hospital in St. Croix Falls Wisconsin, where he died around 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
Labarron was from the Twin Cities suburb of Edina.
