GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) - Grand Chute police say a man who crashed into an apartment building early Wednesday thought he was traveling on Highway 41.

Authorities say it happened at 1150 West Evergreen Drive at 5 a.m.

When cops arrived, they found the driver parked on the street, trying to change his tire. His vehicle had extensive front-end damage, and police found that he had crashed through a wall and into one of the apartments.

The driver, a 25-year-old Ripon man, told police he thought he was driving on Highway 41 south before the crash. Officers are recommending charges of second-offense operating while intoxicated. 

No one was hurt.
