GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) - Wisconsin Public Service has some good news for gas and electric customers. They are projecting steady electricity prices and a slight decrease in retail natural gas prices for consumers. David Kyto says WPS filed a request with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to modify their previous 2013 rate plan. Kyto says, “Current economic forecasts are improved over those used in the initial filing.” He says WPS was able to save on fuel costs for electrical generation. Kyto says if the commission approves using those savings to offset increased generation costs, there would be no increase in electric rates to consumers in 2013.
WPS attributes bringing the Weston 4 Power Plant into service and completing the 100-megawatt Crane Creek Wind Farm as part of why they’ve been able to stabilize electric rates in recent years.
