GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) - A 2010 Packers Super Bowl Championship ring has been pawned off.Pawn America in Grand Chute tweeted a photo of the diamond encrusted “G” ring on Tuesday and grabbed worthy attention. The accompanying photo came with the tag “This is probably our coolest piece at Pawn America Appleton! An authenticated 2010 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Ring!” Assistant Manager Dominic Volpe says the ring is for a female, size 8, and was one of the number of rings made for every full-time employee with the organization at the time of the championship run. The owner sold the ring in January, and by early March was on display in their store. “You don’t really see things like this.” Says Volpe. The ring was authenticated and the paperwork that came with the ring is laying next it to in the display case. Volpe says they have had the ring on their website for awhile but the site doesn’t get a lot of hits. The asking price, $9,999 plus tax. “We’ve had offers on the ring already, as of right now we’re are holding firm on that price, because we know we can get it.” Volpe said. After the posting on Twitter, the story quickly gained national headlines and the Pawn America location says there are interests outside Wisconsin looking at purchasing the ring. The certification paperwork has the sellers name as Sarah Pace. Heading over to the Packers website and Front Office staff, you’ll find Sarah Pace, Atrium Operations Lead. The ring is an exact replica of the players ring, usually staff gets different rings.
