Fleetwood Mac 's Mick Fleetwood and John McVie contributed to a track featured on last year's ZZ Top: A Tribute from Friends album, and now ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons is returning the favor. The singer/guitar has recorded a version of the early Fleetwood Mac classic "Oh Well" that will appear on Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac , a covers album that's scheduled to be released on August 14.
The 17-track collection boasts an eclectic lineup of artists performing versions of songs from throughout Fleetwood Mac's long and varied career. Among the other acts featured on the album are Sonic Youth 's Lee Ranaldo , MGMT , Lykke Li , St. Vincent and The Kills .
Just Tell Me That You Want Me was produced by Randall Poster and Gelya Robb , the same team responsible for the star-studded 2011 tribute disc Rave On Buddy Holly .
"The story of Fleetwood Mac has always intrigued me," Poster says in a statement. "And we've tried to tell that story through the arc of music we've recorded. Working with some of our favorite artists and performers, the magical musical legacy of Fleetwood Mac shows itself to be alive and well."
