GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay are warning residents on the city's west side to lock their doors following a string of burglaries.

Cars and garages have been struck by thieves 7 times recently in the King of Arms neighborhood.

Three on Coronation Court, 3 on Gothic Circle and one on Tara Marie Lane.

Authorities believe there are multiple suspects prowling at night. Car and garage windows have been broken into to retrieve items.

Officers recommend the following tips to keep your family and property safe:

•Leave outdoor lights on at night • Install motion detector lights around your outside doors• Install heavy-duty locks, or a deadbolt • Secure service doors, especially on attached garages • Place a board or broom stick at the base of patio doors• Record all serial numbers of electronics and other desirable goods • Keep firearms locked in a safe that is bolted to a wall or floor • If you have valuables in your garage, make sure they are not visible through a garage window • Lock your car, even if it’s in the garage • If you car is parked in the driveway, remove your garage door opener • Keep a close eye on your neighborhood, pay attention to things that are out of the ordinary • Lock your doors, service doors to garages are common targets • Be alert for strangers knocking on doors
