Following the reissues of 1991’s Gish and 1993’s Siamese Dream , The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will be re-releasing 1994’s Pisces Iscariot this month.
The album will be available in a variety of formats, including standard and deluxe digital versions as well as a vinyl package. All versions will include a remastered edition of the original album. The deluxe versions will include 17 previously unreleased or alternate versions of Pisces -era tracks. The physical version of the deluxe package will also include a previously unreleased live DVD documenting a rare Pumpkins performance from November 19, 1988, as well as the band’s first six-song demo tape reproduced on cassette.
“My approach was to look at the album like a mix tape,” said frontman Billy Corgan in a statement. “It was as if I was going to make a mix tape for a friend to say, `Hey, check out this other stuff I did with my band that’s not on the albums.’ I didn’t feel as if it had to work as a great album, but it had to work as a good mix tape.”
The Pisces Iscariot reissues will be available on July 17.
