BROOKFIELD, Wis (WSAU) For the first time the Powerball jackpot is at its new, higher minimum of $40-million for Wednesday night. That's after a ticket sold in Rhode Island won Saturday night's prize of $336-million. Wisconsin had one of the million-dollar second prizes. A ticket sold at a Pick-'N-Save in Brookfield matched all five numbers but not the Powerball. That prize used to be $200,000, one-fifth its current amount, before the ticket price rose to two-dollars last month.
Also Wisconsin had a pair of $10,000 winners on Saturday. Those tickets matched four regular numbers plus the Powerball -- and they were sold at J-and-M Market in Nichols and Jandu Petroleum in Algoma. Just under 60,000 Wisconsin players won smaller prizes. Almost 30,000 tickets won $4 just by matching the Powerball.
Saturday's numbers were 1, 10, 37, 52, and 57. The Powerball was 11.
In Mega Millions, the jackpot is at $51-million dollars for the next drawing Tuesday night.
