While Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan drew venom from Rage Against the Machine ’s Tom Morello after saying he was a fan of his band, The Killers seem to be at peace with presidential candidate Mitt Romney enjoying their music. In a recent interview with Parade , Romney included The Killers in a list of bands that he admires and would want to perform for him at the White House if he’s elected.

"Anyone's allowed to like us," bassist Mark Stoermer tells Rolling Stone . "If it's just about music, I guess it's not a negative thing. He's…a guy and he listens to music and happens to like us. That's fine."

Stoermer added that he’s not sure if the band would want to perform at the White House for Romney. "We'd have to cross that bridge when we come to it," says the bassist. "We're not really a political band. And we don't necessarily have all the same views, but none of us are very politically active anyway. I guess we would be open to it, depending on if and when it happens and what it was about."
