Just because Incubus is going on hiatus after finishing up their co-headlining tour with Linkin Park doesn't mean fans should see it as a sign that the band is splitting up. Frontman Brandon Boyd says he just feels that it’s healthy for the band members to take a break from one another after the end of an album cycle.
“We have no intention of breaking up as far as I know,” Boyd tells ABC News Radio. “It’s like a family -- you step away from it, and you give everybody space and then, usually you wanna come back and communicate in the way you know how. We’re very much like a family and we’re also in a really good place right now inter-personally.”
Boyd added that he will be busy during the break, as he plans to record another solo album. “I’ve just been writing a ton of music and just demoing it, kind of quietly stockpiling them,” explains Boyd. “Whether the music sees the light of day, I have no idea. That’s not necessarily my intention, but I hope it does.”
