Back in June, The Black Keys filed a lawsuit against Home Depot and Pizza Hut, claiming that the companies used the band's songs without permission in their commercials. Now, attorneys for both Pizza Hut and Home Depot have filed court documents denying those claims, Entertainment Weekly reports. In addition, both companies are asking the court to have The Keys pay their attorneys’ fees if they win.
The band alleges that Home Depot used parts of their hit "Lonely Boy" in a power tools commercial, while Pizza Hut used parts of another hit, "Gold on the Ceiling," in a commercial for its Cheesy Bites Pizza. Both songs appear on the band's 2011 album El Camino. The songs' co-producer and co-writer, Danger Mouse , is also suing.
