FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - Things got a little slick in Fond du Lac Friday morning, after a bee farmer spilled about 200 gallons of honey on a major roadway.
Authorities said the farmer was transporting the honey when it coated the right eastbound lane of Highway 23 at its entrance ramp to the Highway 41 expressway. No one was hurt.
Fond du Lac firefighters had to soak, dredge, and shovel the honey off the roadway so drivers wouldn’t slide out of control.
The spill took place around 5 a.m. – and the lane was re-opened about an hour-and-a-half later.
