The Milwaukee Brewers completed their first series sweep since May by beating the Houston Astros 13-4 at Miller Park Wednesday afternoon. The Brewers scored in the first as Houston committed two of their four errors in the game. Milwaukee broke it open with a 6 run, fifth inning. Four Brewers hit home runs, Ryan Braun his 29th, Rickie Weeks hit number 12, Cesar Isturis flashed rare power on a solo shot and Jonathan Lucroy added a two run homer late. Mike Fiers picked up the win, working six-plus innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out six. It was the 8th straight quality start for Fiers as the rookie kept his earned run average under 2. The last time the Brewers swept a series was a four game sweep in the final week of May in Los Angeles. Milwaukee (48-56) remains 15 games behind Cincinnati in the division race and after a day off Thursday, travels to St. Louis to meet the third place Cardinals.
