In the wake of Sonic Youth ’s indefinite hiatus following the breakup of his 21-year marriage to bassist Kim Gordon , guitarist, singer and songwriter Thurston Moore has been filling up his schedule with other projects. One month after announcing that he's formed a new band, Chelsea Light Moving , it's been revealed that Moore has now joined black metal supergroup Twilight .
“[Moore]’s in the band, and going to be on the record,” Twilight singer Blake Judd tells The 1st Five . “Thurston really likes our music and…loves Black Metal. And now that Sonic Youth’s broken up, and he’s essentially divorced, he’s got plenty of time.” Judd added that the band will head into the studio with Moore to work on their next album in August.
In other Moore news, the frontman, together with Gordon, is also working on a collaborative album with Yoko Ono , due in September.
