Rumours linking the two young stars romantically have been rife for weeks, but neither Twilight star Lautner nor Collins have been talking about it.

However, their Abduction co-star, Whitaker, has gone on the record about it.

He tells EOnline.com, ""It's kind of like that teenage love in high school. It was kind of like, 'Let's go on a date.' They were willing to go bowling. It wasn't all about the relationship, it was more about having fun with each other and I think any time that's the premise of your couple, it's going to go great.""

Whitaker tells the website he saw the sparks flying between the smitten stars at the very first table read: ""I think the chemistry's naturally going to show... It was off set so it definitely came on set.""

But Whitaker insists he has no idea whether or not the romance lasted after filming wrapped. The couple's representatives have refused to discuss the stars' private lives.
