UNDATED, WI (WTAQ) - A Democratic polling firm says Tommy Thompson has a slim lead in the Republican US Senate race for next year. Public Policy Polling surveyed 650 GOP primary voters in the last week. 35-percent favored the former governor and Bush health secretary. 29% support former Congressman Mark Neumann. 21% said they endorsed Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald.
The same poll also tried to get a gauge on the Republican race for the White House. Former Godfather’s Pizza executive Herman Cain leads in the Badger State with 30-percent. Mitt Romney is next at 18%, followed by Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich at 12% each.
