Angela Dorian, who was the magazine's Playmate of the Year in 1968, was arrested and put behind bars after allegedly firing a handgun at her partner during a fight at their Hollywood apartment, reports TMZ.com.

Her unnamed boyfriend was admitted to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Dorian is currently being held in custody with her bail set at $1 million (£667,000). She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
