MONDOVI, Wis. (WTAQ) - A 13-year-old boy in western Wisconsin broke his right leg while saving a three year old boy who ran into a road as traffic was coming.
Kody Schulte of Mondovi was helping a friend baby-sit two youngsters on Tuesday. Kody said he was playing around with his buddy when the three-year-old ventured into the road.
Kody said he took off and grabbed the youngster, but he tripped on the curb while doing so and he heard something crack. He said he didn’t feel any pain until his leg got straightened out.
The friend called for an ambulance, and Kody mother said she’s just glad everyone survived. She said Kody’s leg would be in a full-length cast for about three weeks, and then in a smaller cast for 6-to-8 weeks.
