DUBUQUE, Iowa (WRN) - A Hazel Green man has been hurt in a deer hunting accident in Iowa. 37-seven year old Kevin Bourland was reportedly helping a friend find a deer he shot when a shotgun propped against a tree started to fall. Bourland reached to grab the gun when it went off, hitting him in the thumb. The accident happened Saturday in Jackson County, near St. Donatus. Bourland was taken to a Dubuque hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
