Seahawks week underway

Posted by Mark Daniels on

After installing the game plan with a Tuesday workout, the Packers started implementing the Seattle Seahawks plan on Thursday's full practice.  A troubling injury report with wide receiver Greg Jennings put a damper on the day.  Jennings did not participate because his pulled groin isn't feeling better.  He tried rehabbing it during a workout Tuesday but apparently suffered a setback.  Mike McCarthy said because the game's an extra day away, he's still hopeful to have him back.   The only player who did not work was Jamari Lattimore, the linebacker still has an ankle injury.  Limited in practice were Randall Cobb with a hamstring, Davon House with a shoulder, Josh Sitton with a knee, James Starks with turf toe and C.J. Wilson with a pulled groin.  Nick Perry was a full participant even while wearing a brace on his sore wrist and Terrell Manning returned to practice after suffering a concussion.

Tim Masthay was named the NFC's Special Teams player of the week for his work against the Bears, five punts, three inside the 20, limiting Devin Hester to 8 return yards and oh by the way, tossing the first touchdown pass of his career.  The shovel pass to Tom Crabtree off the field goal fake covered 27 yards for the score.  Masthay has won this award three times, one in each of his three years on the team.

The other big story of the day, the week really, is examined more closely on the audio podcast found on the link below.  The Aaron Rodgers leadership question thanks to a tweet from the agent of a teammate and former Packer Matt Flynn still sitting on the bench in Seattle, with big money, while former Badger Russell Wilson is running the show.
