Here's what I'll be looking for when the Packers close out the Pre-Season against the Kansas City Chiefs and Lambeau Field Thursday night. There appears to be only one starting job left to claim, the cornerback position opposite Tramon Williams. It's a four horse race with one of those horses wounded and he might be the best of the bunch. I'm hoping Davon House recovers from the shoulder injury soon so it doesn't come down to Jarrett Bush, Sam Shields and Casey Hayward. If House isn't ready, I'm leaning toward Shields, despite a very slow start to camp. Bush is better inside than he is covering receivers on the island outside. Hayward is a promising rookie but not ready. If the Packers keep six wide receivers, a distinct possibility, everyone assumed it would be Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, James Jones, Randall Cobb and either Tori Gurley or Diondre Borel. Give me Jarrett Boykin instead, I think he's outperformed the other two and could lock up that spot with a strong showing against the Chiefs. Then there's Graham Harrell. While he's apparently earned the confidence of management, coaches and teammates for the number two quarterback job, he's still has some convincing to do with fans and the media. Granted those are the opinions that matter the least, but he has to show more reliable play down to down. Another shaky showing from the backup offensive line could lead Ted Thompson to cut beyond 53 players Friday and sign a castoff hog or two. I'll have a Packers-Chiefs review with locker room quotes posted after the ballgame.
